Lights out is one of our more ambitious and abstract games where one roleplays either a hidden killer or a partygoer. During development, we realized that a pen and paper way to go about things would not be the best choice for us. Using our knowledge on web design and coding, we are currently constructing a companion app to help make the gameplay as smooth as possible. The app is in its early stages, only a rough outline and a few working parts. But, in time, we will be able to release it as a web application.

The game itself was pretty fun when first testing, until a number of moving parts that were a bit hard to track. THis was especially evident when the host had to keep track of the partygoers, thor mini game status, the killer status, clues, and every other mechanic while also ensuring that people were having fun. It was a lot of work that let some of the partygoers slip by the wayside, feeling a bit ignored. THis was one of the situations we wanted to remove by adding an application. It can get quite hectic with so many people doing their individual things. The app will also help the players understand what they need to do.
